    Antony and the Johnsons es un grupo musical procedente de Nueva York liderado por el cantante y pianista Antony Hegarty, quien también es el compositor de todas sus canciones. Más que un grupo en sentido clásico, The Johnsons se puede considerar la banda de acompañamiento de Antony, quien da toda la personalidad al proyecto. Biografía Antony Hagerty nació en Chichester, ciudad de la región de West Sussex en el Reino Unido en el año 1971. En 1977 se trasladó a Amsterdam y en 1981 se estableció en San José, California. En su adolescencia fue un gran seguidor del Synth pop, especialmente de artistas como Boy George y Marc Almond, líder de Soft Cell. En 1990 se estableció definitivamente en Nueva York para estudiar Teatro experimental en la Universidad de Nueva York.
